Hello, I’m Mees, 23 years old.
I had the privilege of growing up with my father, who was not just a parent but also a creator. He designed and manufactured his own products, and from a very young age, I was immersed in the world of product design through our visits to trade shows. Those early experiences left a lasting impression on me, igniting a passion for becoming a product designer myself.
In 2022, I embarked on my academic journey by enrolling in the Industrial Product Design program at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. However, it was during my six-month gap year in 2021 that I took a significant step towards realizing my dreams. During this break, I decided to teach myself 3D design using Blender. I also made a bold move by investing in a 3D printer, determined to understand every facet of this technology, from design to production.
But there’s more to my story. Beyond the technical aspects of design, I have a profound interest in minimalism and sustainable design. I believe that products should not only be aesthetically pleasing and functional but also eco-friendly and minimal in their impact on our planet. This philosophy drives my passion for creating designs that are not only visually appealing but also contribute positively to our environment.
So, as I continue my journey into the world of product design, I aspire to fuse my technical skills with my commitment to minimalism and sustainability, creating products that are not just objects but responsible contributions to a better future.
